The macadamia, also known as the “queen of the nuts”, originally comes from Australia and was popular with the Aborigines because of its flavour and nutrients. It is very nutritious, particularly because of its high fat content of around 70 %. The fats, which are predominantly unsaturated fatty acids, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats, are also the reason for the macadamia’s typically buttery, almost creamy taste. Seeberger macadamias are roasted gently without oil and then lightly salted to complement their unique taste.
